Lisha Di Gioacchino is a research analyst with Community Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA). In her role, she is dedicated to decreasing substance use disorders (SUDs) stigma and advocating for accessible substance use health care, free from stigma and discrimination. Through her work with the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and most recently, CAPSA, Lisha has conducted research on SUDs symptom management, and the prevention of trauma and violence, SUDs, and exposure to drugs before birth. Lisha holds a master’s degree in criminology from the University of Ottawa and a post-graduate diploma in Victimology, Victim Assistance and Criminal Justice from the Inter University Center. Lisha is living well with co-morbid SUDs and complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
