A life-long resident of Ottawa, Sylvie Belair Scharf was drawn to the non-profit sector over 20 years ago where she developed a passion for community-based programs and initiatives that address social determinants of health.  She brings to CAPSA extensive experience in implementing programs and services, strategic planning skills, her accreditation and health equity work and a keen interest in fostering collaboration with key-stakeholders.  Sylvie is proud to collaborate with a talented team of educators, researchers and policy experts to continue to advance CAPSA’s vision, both as a member of the senior leadership team and as someone who’s family is impacted by systemic barriers that CAPSA aims to remove using evidence-based solutions. She is happiest when spending time with her family or exploring nature on her bike, kayak or skis.
